Research and Critical Writing
English 1312
The primary goal of English 1312 is to develop students’ critical thinking skills in order to facilitate effective communication in all educational, professional, and social contexts. This effective communication is based on an awareness of and appreciation for discourse communities as well as knowledge specific to subject matters, genres, rhetorical strategies, and writing processes.
UWC
English 1312 students are strongly encouraged to visit the University Writing Center for assistance on their writing projects. Most tutors are also instructors and scorers; therefore, they can assist with every step of the writing process for every project! The UWC is located on the 2nd floor of the library. Visit their website for more information.
